Mission Statement

The Maternal - Fetal Environment Working Group is a collaborative effort whose members are dedicated to the well-being of the maternal - fetal environment. It is the belief and vision of the group that the maternal - fetal environment is a global concern vital to international public health.

The members are interested in factors affecting the overall maternal - fetal environment, including: the investigation of adverse conditions and outcomes of pregnancy and placental function; assessing interaction between environmental, genetic, and nutritional conditions in fetal and reproductive outcomes; the examination of public health policy and prevention strategies and improvements in surveillance; and researching the long-term implications to health from in utero exposures.
